Best Places To Eat In Half Moon Bay
POSTED ON MAY 30, 2017Half Moon Bay is a small town in the California coast located along scenic Highway 1. This small town is a getaway from the hectic city and offers plenty of food choices to enjoy in a beach setting.
Enjoy Breakfast at Sam’s Coffee Shop
Why not start your day with a hearty or light breakfast at this awesome coffee shop right off the 92 highway? Locals enjoy meeting up with their families and friends here during the week and on weekends. It has become a popular place for gatherings. And how can it not be since this place is warm and friendly, the food is delicious, and the menu is extensive. You will not go hungry here. Our favorites include: the Sam’s special egg omelets, the eggs benedict, and the strawberry french toast. It is the best place to start your morning.
Sandwiches at San Benito House
The best sandwiches in Half Moon Bay are the ones made at San Benito House. Freshly baked bread and fresh ingredients always make the best sandwiches. You can customize your own sandwich or choose any classic. We like making our own as it is way more fun and you get to decide what goes on your sandwich! There is a cute outside area with benches where you can eat out, socialize peacefully, people watch, or enjoy the foggy afternoons.
Jersey Joe’s (Coastside)
For the best ever Philly cheesesteaks, we always head over to Jersey Joe’s. They are a small east coast style hoagie shop originally located in San Carlos, CA. We used to visit the location in San Carlos, but we’re so happy they opened a location in Half Moon Bay. Forget the diet! This place will have you drooling for a cheesesteak or a burger. The curly fries are amazing too. It is everything you could ever want with an authentic cheesesteak. We would definitely give this place fives stars! The people here are very friendly. This place also has lots of tv screens to watch your favorite sports or hold an event to celebrate a birthday.
It’s Italia
One of our favorite Italian restaurant is It’s Italia, formerly known as The Inn. It is located right in the heart of main street. There’s plenty of parking in the back, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t find a spot on main street. This is another popular place for the locals and weekends can get busy. There is a cute outside seating area and the main dining area is beautifully romantic with great ambiance. The bread is to die for! We cannot get enough of it! It is served with your typical dipping of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Chicken Pasta and the Gnocchi Tartufata. The servings are big also, so you might have to take to-go boxes.
Shiki Japanese Cuisine
This amazing sushi restaurant is located on Stone Pine Road, in the same area as Jersey Joe’s Coastside. We love going there for sushi. The fish is so fresh and they have a huge variety of rolls and sashimi to choose from.
Our favorite sushi roll is the Honey Crunch. We never forget to order it. It’s a must if you’re not allergic to pecans. The waiters are super nice and attentive. We love chatting with them. It is a place we always return to.
Barbara’s Fish Trap
If you want to try the best clam chowder on the coast, then you have to go here. It is our favorite place to get clam chowder. The seafood is also very fresh. We enjoy eating out and hearing the ocean waves hit the rocks. This place can get crowded during the lunchtime hours so keep this in mind. There can be a bit of a wait but it is totally worth it.
Half Moon Bay Brewing Company
Beer lovers obviously need to stop by. Even if you don’t love beer, this place is pretty cool! They have great craft beers; we love their seasonal beers and we’re always excited to try their new creations. The restaurant is big and the food is delicious. We love their appetizer selection including: the Nachos and the Parmesan Truffle Fries. You can really taste the truffle. The outside area is awesome. There are fire-pits where you can enjoy long and warm chats with friends or family. This is a dog-friendly restaurant so you can bring your furry one with you. There’s a separate bar area where you can enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons. The locals love it here and it is hard not to get up and dance along with the locals.
Miramar Beach Restaurant
End your night at the Miramar Beach Restaurant overlooking the beautiful sunsets and enjoying a drink. We used to go here often and always loved the relaxing evenings and the atmosphere of this place. You can choose to dine outside or inside. The bartenders are nice and very attentive. The drinks are great and the food is also very good! This is a cool place to celebrate a birthday or just to meet up with friends to celebrate life.
